1. Introduction

Welcome to Intent operated by Intent Inc., a Delaware corporation, and its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, and representatives (“Company,” “we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use the Intent application, our website, our web application, and any related services (“Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy, as may be updated from time to time. If you do not agree with these terms, you must discontinue use of our services immediately. Any capitalized terms or terms not otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

Intent must receive or collect some information to operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services, including when you install, access, or use our Services. The types of information we receive and collect depend on how you use our Services. We require certain information to deliver our Services and without this we will not be able to provide our Services to you. Our Services have optional features which, if used by you, require us to collect additional information to provide such features. You will be notified of such collection, as appropriate. If you choose not to provide the information needed to use a feature, you will be unable to use the feature. Permissions can be managed through your Settings feature on both Android and iOS devices.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you register or update your account, we collect your name, password, email, phone number, profile picture, third-party login credentials (if you choose to log in through such services) and other information you authorize to share for the purpose of creating and managing your account. If you don’t provide us with this information, you will not be able to create an account to use our Services.
  • Age Verification: Please note that we generally require you to be at least 18 years old and to have full legal capacity to access or use our Services. We may, at our own discretion, request that you provide your age or other information to verify your eligibility.
  • Third-Party Referral and Invitation: If you use any feature of the Services that lets you communicate with third parties (such as referring someone to the Services or inviting them to Intent), you must have their permission to provide their information to us. You also agree to notify them about how their data will be collected and used by Intent. We may identify you as the person making the referral in our communications, and each message will include an option for the third party to opt out of further similar communications.
  • Messages and Content: We transmit the messages, photos, audio/voice messages, and other Personal Content you send or receive through the Services, for the purpose of providing messaging and AI Features. We do not retain identifiable voice data longer than necessary to deliver the Services.
  • Contacts: This is an optional feature. With your consent, we access and upload names and phone numbers from your mobile address book to show who are also on Intent Service and to help you connect with your contacts on our platform.
  • Customer Support: If you contact our support team, we may collect and retain communications such as call recordings, chat logs, email correspondence, and responses to surveys or feedback forms in order to address your inquiries, provide customer support, and improve our services. In certain cases, to update or access sensitive account information, we may require you to provide proof of identity or other verification documents to ensure the security of your account and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

For example, when other users you know use our Services, they may provide your phone number, name, and other information (like information from their mobile address book) just as you may provide theirs. We require each of these users to have lawful rights to collect, use, and share your information before providing any information to us. You should keep in mind that in general any user can capture screenshots of your chats or messages or make recordings of your calls with them and send them to Intent or anyone else, or post them on another platform.
  • User Reports: Just as you can report other users, other users or third parties may also choose to report to us your interactions and your messages with them or others on our Services; for example, to report possible violations of our Terms or Policies.
